The BMW G80 M3 is the most driver-focused sedan BMW builds. The S58 engine, rear-wheel drive as standard, active M differential, and a wide-body shell that's wider than any previous M3 — it arrives from the factory already making a strong visual statement. Carbon fiber upgrades build on that foundation, sharpening the appearance and reducing weight where it matters.

This guide covers every carbon fiber exterior and interior upgrade available for the BMW G80 M3 and G81 M3 Touring, organized by location on the car. Most parts also fit the G82 M4 coupe and G83 M4 convertible — noted throughout where relevant.

Fitment note: All products listed here are engineered specifically for the BMW G80/G81 M3 and G82/G83 M4 (2021–present). These parts do not fit the F80 M3 or F82 M4 (2015–2020).

Front End Upgrades

Carbon Fiber Front Lips

The front lip is the highest-impact single exterior upgrade for the G80 M3 — it lowers the visual center of gravity, adds an aggressive splitter profile, and is visible from every angle at the front of the car. JL Motoring carries two options:

  • Performance Style Carbon Fiber Front Lip — A wider, more aggressive splitter design with a deep lower profile. Built for the owner who wants a track-inspired look on the street. Mounts to the factory bumper attachment points.
  • V1 Carbon Fiber Front Lip — A refined, OEM-plus profile that integrates tightly with the factory bumper lines. Subtler than the Performance Style but still a noticeable upgrade over the stock lower valance. Best choice for a clean, sophisticated finish.

Carbon Fiber Front Grille

The Carbon Fiber Front Grille  is the single most visible upgrade on the front of the G80 M3. The M3's signature large kidney grilles are the defining design element of the car's face — carbon fiber here transforms the grille surround with deep 2×2 twill weave that reads as premium and intentional from any distance. If budget only allows one front-end upgrade, this is the piece that gets noticed.

Carbon Fiber Front Bumper Vents

The Carbon Fiber Front Bumper Vents  replace the plastic surrounds on the lower bumper air intakes. Together with the front lip, these two pieces complete the lower front fascia in carbon fiber — an important pairing because the stock bumper has a lot of plastic in this area that can look unfinished against a carbon front lip.

Carbon Fiber Front Canards

The Carbon Fiber Front Canards mount to the outer edges of the front bumper — small winglet elements that add aerodynamic separation and a track-car aesthetic to the front corners. On the G80 M3's wide body, canards read as a natural addition that reinforces the motorsport character. A relatively affordable upgrade that makes the front end look significantly more purposeful.

Carbon Fiber Hood Trims

The Carbon Fiber Hood Trims replace the plastic hood vent surrounds with real carbon fiber. Visible from the front and side, these are one of the most photographed upgrades on the G80 M3 — the contrast of carbon against the factory paint colour (particularly on lighter colours like Brooklyn Grey or Alpine White) is striking. OEM mounting points, no modification to the hood required.

Carbon Fiber Fender Trims

The Carbon Fiber Fender Trims cover the lower fender accent strips on the G80 M3's wide-body fenders — another detail area that the factory finishes in plastic. These tie the front end treatment around to the sides of the car, important for builds targeting a fully consistent look rather than isolated upgraded pieces.

Carbon Fiber Antenna Cover

The Carbon Fiber Antenna Cover is the lowest-investment carbon fiber upgrade available for the G80 M3 — and one of the most noticed at close range. The factory shark fin antenna is gloss black plastic; replacing it with carbon fiber is a small detail that signals attention to finish across the whole car. Compatible with G80 M3 and G82 M4.

Hood Upgrades

Beyond hood trims, JL Motoring carries full DTM-style hood replacements for the G80 M3 — the most dramatic single exterior upgrade available for this chassis:

  • DTM Style Hood — A full hood replacement in the DTM-inspired design with raised center vents and an aggressive profile. Fits G80 M3, G81 M3 Touring, G82 M4, and G83 M4 Convertible.
  • DTM Carbon Fiber Hood — The full DTM hood in genuine carbon fiber construction. Delivers real weight savings over the stock steel hood — approximately 10–14 kg reduction depending on the specific piece. This is the choice for track-focused builds where weight reduction is as important as aesthetics.

Side Upgrades

Carbon Fiber Side Skirts

The G80 M3 already has a wide-body stance from the factory. Carbon fiber side skirts extend that visual width further, dropping the roofline and making the car appear lower and more planted. JL Motoring carries three options depending on the level of aggressiveness:

  • Carbon Fiber Side Skirts — The core side skirt upgrade — OEM-style mounting, clean integration with the factory body lines, significant visual improvement over the stock sills.
  • Carbon Fiber Rear Side Trims — A lower-profile option covering the rear sill section specifically. Good choice for completing a rear-biased build or for owners who want a more subtle side treatment.
  • Performance Carbon Fiber Side Skirts — The most aggressive side skirt option — deeper profile, wider coverage, and a more pronounced lip along the lower edge. Built for full aero builds targeting maximum visual impact.

Carbon Fiber Rear Winglets

The Performance Style Carbon Fiber Rear Winglet Set adds aerodynamic winglet extensions to the rear sides of the car. These sit behind the rear wheels and add visual width and aero character to the rear quarters — a detail upgrade that reads as clearly motorsport-inspired. Available in G80/G81 M3 and G82/G83 M4 specific variants.

Carbon Fiber Mirrors

The Carbon Fiber Mirrors are full housing replacements — not clip-on caps. Real carbon fiber construction, direct-fit replacement, gloss UV-resistant clear coat. Carbon fiber mirrors are visible from the front, side, and rear simultaneously, making them one of the most impactful accent upgrades per dollar on any BMW.

Rear Upgrades

Carbon Fiber Rear Diffusers

JL Motoring carries two rear diffuser options for the G80 M3 — with different design languages:

  • Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser — A clean, performance-inspired diffuser design with carbon blade elements. Transforms the rear bumper's lower section completely. Installs using the factory attachment points in 30–45 minutes — see our full G80 M3 diffuser installation guide for the step-by-step process.
  • Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser (V2) — An alternative diffuser design with a different blade arrangement and lower valance profile. Same fitment and installation process — the choice between the two is purely aesthetic based on the blade configuration you prefer.

Carbon Fiber Roof Spoiler

The Carbon Fiber Roof Spoiler mounts to the trailing edge of the G80 M3's roofline, adding a subtle ducktail profile that disrupts airflow at the rear. On the G80 sedan, this is a particularly effective detail — the combination of roof spoiler and trunk spoiler creates a cohesive rear-end treatment. Specific to the G80 M3 sedan.

Trunk Spoiler Options

Four distinct trunk spoiler options, from subtle to race-inspired:

  • CS Style Carbon Fiber Trunk Spoiler — Inspired by the factory M3 CS trunk spoiler design — a low-profile lip that adds visual closure to the trunk line without dramatically altering the car's roofline. Restrained and purposeful.
  • G80 M3 GTX Carbon Fiber Trunk Spoiler — A more sculpted lip design specific to the G80 M3 sedan. Slightly more presence than the CS style while remaining in an OEM-plus aesthetic.
  • G82 M4 GTX Carbon Fiber Trunk Spoiler — The GTX spoiler design fitted to the G82 M4 coupe's trunk geometry. M4-specific fitment.
  • Performance Style Carbon Fiber Trunk Wing — A fully elevated rear wing with motorsport proportions. This is the highest-impact rear upgrade available — it transforms the rear profile of the G80 M3 or G82 M4 into something that reads as unambiguously track-prepared. For builds where visual impact at the rear is the priority.

Lighting

GTS Style Tail Light Set

The GTS Tail Light Set replaces the factory taillights with a GTS-inspired design. Compatible with the G80 M3 and G20 3 Series. A less common upgrade than aero parts, but tail lights are one of the most distinctive visual elements of any car's rear end — the GTS design gives the G80 M3 a unique rear signature that's immediately recognisable.

Interior & Accessories

Carbon fiber details that extend the build inside the car and into the details:

  • Carbon Fiber Seat Covers — Carbon fiber shell panels for the M Sport seats — visible from the side with the door open and from the rear seats. Completes the interior carbon fiber look.
  • Dry Carbon Fiber Competition Fuel Cap Cover — A dry carbon fiber fuel cap replacement — one of the smallest but most satisfying detail upgrades on the car. Available in black carbon fiber and red carbon fiber.
  • Carbon Fiber Key Cover — Carbon fiber key fob cover for the G80 M3 and G82 M4. The lowest-investment entry into carbon fiber on the car — and the one piece you interact with before you even open the door.

Building a Full Carbon Fiber Package for the G80 M3

A logical build progression for the G80 M3:

Stage 1 — Front and rear impact : Front lip + rear diffuser. These two pieces define the front and rear character of the car. Start here for the highest visual return per dollar.

Stage 2 — Complete the exterior circuit : Side skirts + mirrors + hood trims + front canards + front bumper vents. Connects the front and rear treatments, fills in the major plastic sections, and creates a consistent perimeter of carbon fiber around the car.

Stage 3 — Rear detail : Trunk spoiler + roof spoiler + rear winglets. Elevates the rear end with layered aero detailing. The combination of roof spoiler, trunk spoiler, and rear winglets gives the G80 M3 a stacked rear profile similar to factory M Performance parts.

Stage 4 — Premium upgrades : Carbon fiber grille, DTM hood, or full Performance trunk wing. These are the statement pieces — the grille transforms the front face, the DTM hood delivers real weight savings, and the Performance wing makes an unmistakable statement at the rear.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do these parts fit both the G80 M3 and G82 M4?

Most parts in this guide fit both the G80 M3 sedan and G82 M4 coupe, as they share the same front and rear bumper design. A few parts are specific to one body style — the G80 M3 roof spoiler (sedan-specific roofline), and the G80 M3 vs G82 M4 GTX trunk spoilers are listed separately due to different trunk geometries. Check the product listing for your specific model before ordering.

Do these fit the G81 M3 Touring?

Front end parts (front lip, grille, bumper vents, canards, hood trims) all fit the G81 M3 Touring, as it shares the G80 M3's front end. Rear parts — diffuser, trunk spoilers, roof spoiler — are sedan/coupe-specific and will not fit the Touring's rear end. The DTM hoods are listed as G80/G81/G82/G83 fitment and include the Touring.

Do these fit the F80 M3 or F82 M4?

No. The G80 M3 and F80 M3 are completely different platforms with different bumper geometry, body dimensions, and mounting systems. Parts are not interchangeable between generations. For F80/F82 parts, see our F80 M3 / F82 M4 collection.

What is the difference between the two front lip options?

The Performance Style Front Lip has a deeper, wider splitter profile — more aggressive, more track-inspired. The V1 Front Lip has a cleaner integration with the factory bumper line — a refined, OEM-plus look. Both use the same carbon fiber quality and UV-resistant clear coat. The choice is aesthetic: how aggressive do you want the front end to look?

Can I install these parts myself?

Most exterior parts — front lip, rear diffuser, side skirts, mirrors, hood trims, canards, bumper vents — are DIY-friendly using the factory mounting points. The DTM hood is a full panel replacement and is best installed professionally. See our G80 M3 diffuser install guide for an example of the process and tools involved.

How do I protect carbon fiber from yellowing?

UV exposure is the primary cause of clear coat yellowing on carbon fiber. Applying a ceramic coating or quality UV-protective sealant every 6–12 months significantly extends the life of the finish. For a full maintenance guide, see How to Care for Carbon Fiber Parts on Your BMW.
